Matt and I are now wearing the yellow Livestrong band. If you don't already know it, they are for those who suffer from cancer, and $1 from every purchase of the bands goes to cancer research. We are wearing them in honor of our dear friend, Andrea, who starts treating her brain tumor tomorrow. Because she has been in the hospital with pneumonia, she probably won't be able to start chemo right away, but she will start radiation first thing in the morning. Once she starts chemo, she will have six weeks of treatments ahead of her, and we are praying for that to be enough. The Lord is good in that they caught the brain tumor at the "perfect" time, where they are able to treat it and, Lord willing, stop it here and now. The outlook is good, although it is going to be a tough couple months for this family. She has two girls (ages 10 and 6). Because our hospital is smaller, she is going to St. John, a city about 3 hours from here to do her treatments. She will stay there in the hospital from Monday through Friday, then come home on the weekends. The girls will be away from their mom for those 5 days each week, which is going to be hard. Her husband can't go with her every time, as he has to go to work, too. It is just going to be hard for them all, so I ask that you would pray for the Seeley family (yes, like our last name, only spelled wrong ;-) ) over these next couple months. I know they would greatly appreciate it. Matt and I plan to travel to St. John as much as we can to visit her. We will be going tomorrow to be with her and Scott for her first treatment. It is in times like these that we need our brothers and sisters in Christ, to encourage us and lift us up in prayer, and even be a shoulder to cry on. And that's what Matt and I are planning to do - whatever they need. My heart just breaks for her, but we know that God is in control and this is in His perfect plan. It did not take Him by surprise at all. There is great comfort in that.Until next time...
