We Made It!

Well, after three days of traveling, we made it safely to Waskaganish.  It was a long trip and the kids are tired of sitting and I am dying for some "real" food.  Basically there is not much to eat besides McDonald's and KFC in between home and here.  We did pack some food like bread and peanut butter, but we certainly can't take the whole kitchen with us!  Anyways, we will hopefully get some good meals soon! :-)  Just to give you an idea of how "in the middle of nowhere" we are, our GPS didn't even know where we are!  The last 4 hours of the trip, it just told us that we were driving on "Road".  Haha!  The last hour is just on a dirt road, and the GPS just said we were driving north.  Funny.  Oh, and speaking of the GPS, its very funny to hear the guy try to pronounce all the french names!  It keeps us entertained!  Hey, on a long trip its the simple things that can keep your attention!

The kids are doing very well.  We are blessed with great travellers, for which we are so thankful!  Libby does seem to be coming down with a cold, so that's not cool.  Pray that it goes away soon!

It is now about 10 p.m.  We are spending tonight in the hotel in the village, and will have different accommodations tomorrow and the rest of the time.  Matt and his parents are at the meetings, which have been known to run quite late into the night.  I was just too tired to go tonight, and the kids really needed to sleep.  Really the purpose of us coming is just to be together as a family.  When Matt and I got married, we decided that as much as possible, we would always travel together as a family.  We have broken that "rule" a few times, but don't like it at all.  Although in two weeks Matt is speaking again at a men's retreat back in Mistissini (where we were the last time we were up this way), and we will not be coming with him.  Mainly because it is a men's retreat at a camp and it really would be odd for me and the kids to be there!

But never fear, I will have my sister there to keep me company!  Yes, my dear sister, who lives on a tiny island in the Caribbean thousands of miles away is coming back to the "mainland" for a visit!  Yay!

Well, I think my brain has stopped working, so I will get some much needed shut-eye.  Hope all is well with all you reading this!

Until next time...

Glad to hear you made it safely! We have that same "rule" but have also had to break it a few times. Hoping this week is a wonderful one for you and your family!
